  2. KiaOra,
Muchas Gracias Mi Amigo! You make learning so effortless. Anyone can follow you and I would not mind following you to the moon coz I know you are like my north star.

I wish to use Oracle DB tables as the source and target destinations in the Informatica Powercenter 10.1.0 Developer Client. The Powercenter server is hosted on a 64-bit Linux system. I can run workflows with flat files as the source and target, but when I try to configure a DB source/target, I get an error saying that the oracle(tm) client and networking components were not found.
Anyways great write up, your efforts are much appreciated.
    Regards,
    kevin

  3. Hallo,

Smokin hot stuff! You’ve trimmed my dim. I feel as bright and fresh as your prolific website and blogs!

    What was the point?

When PowerCenter was installed at that site, the customer didn't have any resources knowing PowerCenter well. So they decided to do everything in the source / target DB (I won't tell which DB it was because this is not important) and simply call the respective DB mechanisms (mainly Stored Procedures) from the mapping.
As noted above: after the mapping has been rebuilt using standard transformation, runtime dropped down by factor 360.

So, please ALWAYS try mapping logic and session optimisation before relating on any DB tricks.

I am so grateful for your blog. Really looking forward to read more.

How do you install a version 10.1.1 and import projects of previous versions ? When I tried (as a workaround) to import a full repository of a previous version in the new version, I have got an error saying that I cannot do this. (I tried through the Admin console)

I read multiple articles and watched many videos about how to use this tool - and was still confused! Your instructions were easy to understand and made the process simple.

    Thanks,

  5. Hi There,

I hope there are not detailed navigation questions such as I have experienced on other Informatica tests, because who memorizes each menu path dill-down to get to some detailed settingInformatica Data quality training. We have moved past the old days of having to remember long DOS string commands. That's why we have a menu navigation system today.

THANK YOU!! This saved my butt today, I’m immensely grateful.

    Thank you,
    Preethi.

  6. Hi Suman,

You make learning and reading addictive. All eyes fixed on you. Thank you being such a good and trust worthy guide.
I started using Informatica IDQ training USA blog for my training practice.

could you please check the link again that you've sent? I only get an error message that a Sharepoint error had occurred.

As of my understanding the PowerExchange products cannot be used with PowerCenter Express (PCX). PCX does provide quite a few connectivity options, so if you can find some ODBC or JDBC driver to access SFDC you might be able to get your job done. Otherwise I fear you will have to switch to one of the full-fledged PowerCenter or Informatica Data Quality products.

But great job man, do keep posted with the new updates.
